Day 1: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley

On the first day of our shared 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour on a group trip, you will meet your driver at your riad at 8:00 am and depart from Marrakech, heading towards the south passing through the high Atlas Mountains via the highest road pass in Morocco Tizi-n-Tichka (2260 m high) offering impressive views of valleys, mountains and many Berber villages nearby. Heading towards Ouarzazate, we will visit the UNESCO-protected site of Ait Benhaddou, a most impressive Kasbah and well-preserved fortress in Morocco near Ouarzazate.

Many of the Hollywood movies were filmed there such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Game of Thrones, etc. We will continue your 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga group desert tour towards Dades Valley, through Mgouna, and Skoura (Berber villages around the valley), and spend the night in Dades.

Day 2: Dades - Todra Gorges - Jorf - Erfoud - Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

On the second day of the 3 days shared group tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert, we will leave Dades in the morning, after your breakfast and shower. We will be heading towards Todra Gorges, one of the most beautiful and impressive canyons in Morocco, which is so tight that it is named after the human “throat” or gorge. You will have some time to walk through the canyon, enjoying the sight and the sound of the river passing through. From Todra Gorge, we will continue towards Merzouga through breathtaking landscapes and along with many oases of palm trees and Berber Villages.

We will pass through the small town of Erfoud, where you’ll feel the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet, and then continue to Merzouga. Depending on your arrival time to Merzouga, The camel trek starts around 17:00-18:00 in the summer and around 15:00 – 16:00 in the winter and takes around 1 hour. When you arrive at the camp, you will enjoy the sights of the Sahara dunes and the sunset, you will be welcomed with a traditional Moroccan tea, and later on, dinner will be served in the main tent (restaurant).

After dinner, you will enjoy the Berber music played by locals and a campfire. Don’t forget to look up in the sky, to find an amazing view of countless stars.

Day 3: Merzouga -Alnif - Nkob - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

You’ll have the option to ride the camels again the morning back to Merzouga, or we can pick you up directly from the camp by car. Once you meet your driver, you will start the journey back to Marrakech, through different areas and different Berber villages until Ouarzazate, where we will use the same way back to Marrakech.
